About the artist....
Marilyn J. Chandler
is a native of Oklahoma, with a B.A. degree in Art from Oklahoma State University.
She has studied with many prominent teachers. She has taught classes in
oil, watercolor and other media for over 25 years at various places, including
the Irving YMCA, Northlake College and the Center for the Arts in Irving.
She maintains a studio at 1416 Ross Dr. in Irving.
Art affiliations and awards....
Marilyn was an early member (1955) of the Irving Art Association
and won several Best of Shows over the years. She was the originator of
the prestigious Texas/Neighbors Show in Irving, now in its 17th year.
She is a signature member of Southwestern Watercolor Society, and a former
member of the National League of American Pen Women, Art Division, whose
competition in 1998 awarded her several top honors. She also won several
awards at the Texas Area Artist show in 1998.

Other interests....
Marilyn also does computer sewing and embroidery combined
with Battenburg laces on linens, aprons and runners. New adventures
for Marilyn are rubbert stamping and embossing on a line of greeting
cards, and a technique of combining sewing with some painting ideas.
She has booth space at Coppell Home Decor and is also available for
demonstrations and jurying of shows.
