Scholarships

The Irving Art Association awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Irving who are interested in majoring or minoring in art.  Students from the Irving ISD as well as other schools located in Irving are eligible to enter. One or more awards of usually $1,000 are made each year in March or April and can be used for tuition or fees or some other expenses.

The student exhibits upon which the awards are based will be held at Irving Arts Center Gallery during March of the year. The scholarships will be awarded as part of the awards ceremony for Texas & Neighbors Five State Competition in April in the same gallery.

Since its founding in 1956,  the Irving Art Association's goals have been learning, teaching, and appreciating art and enjoying the fellowship of other artists. Some of IAA's many activities are:

• 22 exhibits annually at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts
• Demonstrations by professionals artists at monthly meetings
• Over 10 workshops each year, as well as free introductory classes

All activities sponsored by IAA are free and open to the public, with the exceptions being competing in the Annual Awards Show and access to the extensive resource library. The IAA also provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Irving who are interested in majoring or minoring in art. More information
